Tie-wire is like duck tape on a skatepark building site. It is used for everything, the building of temporary structures, securing tarps, temporarily fixing tools, tying of rebar, and at times the forming of sculptural pieces. For years, my husband Bart Smith would bring home his small creations for the kids to play with and seeing the potential of the forms I started to place them in front of paintings and then finally in front of glass designs. They create a  beautiful silhouette in front of the glass, allowing for a multitude of design interpretations that includes layering of slumped glass. Prices for the bike series range from $175-500.
